Thanks for this reminder. I must admit it's much easier to delight in the winter cold and the way the sun reflects off the water from an ocean away. But I find myself wanting to stay informed in a pro-active sense, not letting the headlines come at me like a drunken jackass in a bar, but approaching them as if it were triage, and parsing through the noise to recognize what's important. And that's writing my next novel. All the rest becomes noise.

Thank you! Yes. We do what we can, and creating something beautiful is far better than to fret. I’m always inspired by the way you live your life. You seem very attentive to the beauty right in front of you.

It helps that I live in Paris. But that ain't no coincidence either. There's that line from *Midnight in Paris* that I often think about: "That Paris exists and anyone could choose to live anywhere else in the world will always be a mystery to me.”
